Professor Lidong Zhao, Editor-in-Chief of Materials Lab and a leading researcher at Beihang University, has achieved a significant breakthrough in thermoelectric materials, with his latest findings published in the prestigious journal Science. This marks Professor Zhao's 12th publication in Science or Nature since joining Beihang University in 2014.
Professor Zhao's academic journey began in 1997. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Liaoning Technical University and later obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Science and Technology Beijing. His international postdoctoral research at Université Paris-Sud (France) and Northwestern University (USA) enriched his academic expertise. In 2014, he returned to China and joined Beihang University, focusing on thermoelectric energy conversion materials.
Since 2014, Professor Zhao has made remarkable contributions to thermoelectric materials, particularly with his Nature paper on SnSe thermoelectric materials, which garnered widespread attention. Between 2016 and 2024, his team published nine papers in Science, driving significant advancements in the field.
Professor Zhao's outstanding work has been widely recognized, including the International Thermoelectric Society Young Scientist Award (2017), Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor (2018), National Natural Science Foundation of China Distinguished Young Scholar Fund (2019), and the Xplorer Prize (2022).
Materials Lab extends its congratulations to Professor Zhao and his team and looks forward to their future breakthroughs.
